“James Manuele delivered a beautiful concert at the Church of the Advent. The live acoustics of the church, along with its historic architecture provided the perfect vehicle for a lovely afternoon of music making. James’ program was well paced and varied, though the highlight truly was the beloved song “Granada”. I highly recommend James as a performer."
Brennan Szafron, Director of Music - Church of the Advent, Spartanburg

The Portland Guitar Duo formed in 1999. James Manuele and Foti Lycouridis share a mutual enthusiasm for the medium and have performed in numerous venues, as well as radio and television.

Their repertoire covers the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th Century periods, with a selection of pieces ranging from classic guitar duet favorites to some unique literature for lute and guitar.

The duo performs on original, authentic guitars from the 1800s that have been restored to playing condition. Additionally, they seek to bring new music for two guitars to the stage with their own transcriptions. Their concert programs showcase their refined touch and dynamic energy as well as their interpretative abilities.
